Ionic copper concentrations in Knights Pond ranged from below detectability to 105 µ g liter −1 over an 11‐month period. Values were low from summer through late fall when they ascended to the highest levels in midwinter. The chemical characteristics of the watershed were unable to completely complex or precipitate the additional copper.
