Examples of the detailed temperature structure of the upper 245 m of the sea off Baja California provide clues to the dynamic processes occurring in the sea. The examples accurately portray the roughness of the thermocline, which always contains small high‐frequency internal waves. Some sections show a probable tidal effect on the thermocline. These examples also provide clues to the nature of thermal fronts and to relative flow between water of different levels.
