This paper presents the use of Slovenian and French connectors. We notice a tendency of adding connectors or sight fillers into French translations, presumably to fill a lack of coherence or cohesion in the target text. Indeed, the Slovenian language shows a tendency to use fewer connectors than the French language. By comparing source and target texts, the analysis examines the presence of connectors and their potential additions in four literary translations from Slovenian to French performed by two translators. The aim of the paper is to verify whether such additions are a real necessity or rather a trend that can be observed in the French linguistic system
