By the example of the Austrian city of Graz whose old town has been declared a world he-ritage site in 2000 attention shall be focused on the more or less “unnoticed” changes of the historic roofscape that can be observed and that should attract more interest from a geogra-phical (creation of new living space, attraction of new social groups to the city-center), pla-nning and urban zoning (redevelopment of the building and functional structures) or archi-tectonic (urban conservation) perspective.
