The paper focuses on the reform of practical training, the latter often representing one of the educational components of study programmes. Higher education institutions have reformed the study programmes following the goals and principles of the Bologna process, which also included the reform of practical training. The paper presents the legal framework of the reform and highlights how the reform was carried out at the University of Ljubljana. The UL Members have followed the principles and legal framework of the Bologna process, but also employed experience from the »pre-reformed« study programmes as well as university guidelines formed at the beginning of the reform process at the UL. Today the study programmes are reformed and the university must focus on the further progress and improvement of the quality of the programmes and practical training
