This article presents some aspects of the 19-year development of the 'Lifelong Learning Week.' They have provided grounds for a new approach to the promotion of adult education and lifelong learning in Slovenia. The approach is named 'Learning Parade' (LP) and carries a subtitle that implies that learning is already deeply rooted in the communities in which it has been implemented. On the other hand, it is intended for the (further) development of learning communities. A concrete example of the Learning Parade is introduced along with some characteristics of its 14 implementations that have taken place until now. Their integration into the adult educational practice, profession, and policy is shown. The policy implemented at the European level has actually provided strategic and financial incentives for the endeavours described in the form of the 'Resolution on the Renewed European Agenda for Adult Learning.' The implementation of the Agenda is expected to continue in years to come, and it will continue to support the development of a learning societ
