The article analyses the reception of translations of Argentinian children’s and young people’s literature in Slovenia. The texts examined include eight works by four Argentinian authors, which have been released by three different Slovenian publishers. Not all works were translated from Spanish. The analysis considers the data generally used in investigations within the frame of the polysystem theory: the translators, the library loans, the evaluation of the published works by Pionirska, the reviews, and the inclusion of the works in different lists and projects of reading promotion in order to outline the reception of Argentinian children’s literature in Slovenia. The central positions in this literary domain are occupied by translations of works by Maria Teresa Andruetto and Isol (Marisol Misenta), that held by Pedro Penizzotto is somewhat less central, while Noelia Blanco is even more out of the mainstream, and her work has not received any reviews or other support from her publisher
