1900 is adopted from a monologue novel that written by an Italian writer Alessandro Baricco in 1994. This paper mainly focuses on the spirit of withdrawing from the business of the world of 1900. His rejecting secular life, love and life manifests this, he chooses to withdraw from the business of the world due to the following reasons: he has a different value orientation; he has a unique love with the sea, ship and the piano; he fears about the uncertainty of the land and he sticks to the border in his heart. His spirit can inspire people to lead a free and happy life
