Cicatricial alopecia implies that follicular epithelium has been replaced by connective tissue. In other words cicatricial alopecia might include all forms of alopecia in which all hair follicles are permanently lost. In most of the cases, it is accepted that there is a permanent damage to follicular stem cell. While main target is hair follicle in primary cicatricial alopecia, in secondary cicatricial alopecia hair follicle damage is caused indirectly by a disease that is not in association with follicle.\u
