My task in this paper is twofold. On the one hand, I want to provide an account of Twardowski’s treatment of content, as can be found in his book Zur Lehre vom Inhalt und Gegenstand der Vorstellungen (1894). I will devote most of my attention to motivating Twardowski's theory. In conclusion I will provide a defense of the theory
