More than 37 million Americans have diabetes, including nearly 16 million older people, and the rate of diabetes diagnosis is increasing in the country. The cost of diabetes to the health care system has gotten so big ($327 billion) that it can't be ignored. Many federal and state organizations are now providing information and resources online, and we can use the data gathered by state and federal agencies as a go-to source for reliable and timely data. This article compiles a list of various federal resources and programs to consult as the country continues to combat rising diabetes rates.
