Intraperitoneal local anaesthetic instillation (IPLAI) reduces postoperative pain and analgesic consumption effectively but the timing of instillation remains debatable. This study aims at comparing pre-emptive versus post-surgery IPLA in controlling postoperative pain after elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
