Approximately 20% of the world′s population suffers from herpes zoster at least once in a lifetime, with about 10% to 20% of these having an ophthalmic involvement. Timely diagnosis of Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus (HZO), with an early recognition of its various associated complications as well as their management along with an early referral to an ophthalmologist are critical in limiting visual disability.
