The morphological changes of the fruit of Macadamia integrifolia, from fruit set to fruit ripening, were studied and the growth phases of the fruit are described. The length of the fruit growth period, from full bloom to fruit ripening, was 31 weeks and the growth period is divided into three stages. During Stage I, which lasted 2 weeks, the zygote was dormant. Stage II is the seed development period, which lasted 12 weeks. Stage III is the ripening period, which occurred over 17 weeks. Die morfologiese veranderinge van die vrug van Macadamia integrifolia, vanaf vrugset tot vrugrypwording, is ondersoek en die groeifases van die vrug is beskryf. Die lengte van die vruggroeiperiode vanaf volblom tot vrugrypwording was 31 weke en die groeiperiode is in 3 stadia ingedeel. Gedurende stadium I, wat 2 weke geduur het, was die sigoot rustend. Stadium II is die saadontwikkelingsperiode en het 12 weke geduur. Stadium III is die rypwordingsperiode en het 17 weke geduur. Die morfogenetiese veranderinge van die vrug is op 'n tyd skaal ingedeel en dit blyk dat die kritieke periode van vrugval strek vanaf die tweede tot die vierde week na volblom wanneer seldeling in die vrugweefsel 'n aanvang neem. Vrugval bereik 'n piek gedurende die vierde week na volblom. Nege weke na volblom staak seldeling en vrugset eindig. Daarna vind selvergroting plaas waarna die vrug ryp word
