In this article the term covenant of peace is investigated as it appears in some prophetic traditions. The conclusion arrived at is that in the Old Testament the covenant of peace is nothing but the Noahic covenant. Another conclusion is that the covenant of peace is part and parcel of the covenant of grace established by God with Abraham. Some remarks are made about the current dogmatic use of the Noahic covenant in the Reformed tradition, as well as the place and function the covenant should occupy and fulfil in Reformed theology in order to be in line with biblical revelation
