In the past various Afrikaans-speaking theologians have applied viewpoints of the well-known Dutch scholar and reformed theologian Abraham Kuyper (1837-1920), in their support of apartheid. During the past decades this fact, as well as the question as to whether they interpreted Kuyper correctly, has often been a point of discussion in various circles.
