Certain pharmacokinetic aspects of general therapeutics are discussed in this article. The influence of the simultaneous intake of food or other drugs, as well as the presence of certain disease states on drug-absorption are discussed. A systematic presentation of the meaning and importance of kinetic principles such as the steady state, the loading dose, zero-order kinetics, drug administration in the biophase and important drug interactions is also given
