During the XIX century in Milano took place, expecially thanks to Cesare Beccaria, Pietro and Alessandro Verri, the developement of the so called “civil economyâ€, the crucial discipline of european Enlightenment. In addition, some mathematics, such as M.G. Agnesi, R. Boscovich, P. Frisi and L. Mascheroni, wrote important works spreading the new teories. However their fame among their contemporaries started to die down with the passing of time, also because coevals of J.L. Lagrange, L. Eulero, J. D’Alembert, still considered indisputed masters.
