“Acute mountain sickness” is multifaceted syndrome comprising neurological and respiratory symptoms, that can arise in unacclimatised people ascending rapidly to high altitudes. Physiopathology, clinical aspects and treatment of patients affected by this disorder will be discussed here. Moreover a case study of a 56 year old man, with acute pulmonary edema and acute mountain sickness will be presented in this report
