O trabalho discute o estatuto da noção de estado de natureza em Hobbes. Analisa o procedimento pelo qual Hobbes chega a forjar o conceito, caracteriza seus elementos componentes e analisa a demonstração hobbesiana de sua impossibilidade, lógica e jurídica. Ressalta o aspecto lógico do procedimento de Hobbes, examina a relação entre o estado de natureza e a sociedade civil para mostrar a função paradigmática daquela para estaThe article discusses the statute of the State of Nature concept in Hobbes. It analyzes the procedure followed by Hobbes in order to forge the concept, characterizes its component elements and analyzes the Hobbesian demonstration of its logical and juridical impossibility. It points out the logical aspect of Hobbes’ procedure and examines the relationship between the State of Nature and the civil society, in order to show the paradigmatic function of the former for the latte
