A sociedade contemporânea e o espetáculo do terror

With the coming of interactive media, the concept of Society of the Spectacle reaches a new level, in which the image acquires a crucial role in the interactions between governments, societies and extremist groups. These interactions, however, are being established through the promotion of violence and terror as a way of political articulation. In this sense, this article presents a discussion about the concept of Society of the Spectacle and about some functions of the image in the contemporary world.Keywords: Society of the Spectacle, interactive media, terrorism.Com os meios de comunicação interativos, o conceito de Sociedade do espetáculo atinge um novo patamar, em que as imagens assumem um papel crucial nas relações entre governos, sociedades e grupos extremistas. Essas relações, no entanto, estão sendo estabelecidas por meio da promoção da violência e do terror como forma de articulação política, tanto para o aumento da militarização das sociedades quanto para a propaganda fundamentalista e o aliciamento de jovens por organizações terroristas.
