L'induration ferrugineuse des alluvions du Loir à Cré-sur-Loir, Sarthe, France

Les alluvions de la moyenne terrasse du Loir présentent, près de Cré-sur-Loir, un phénomène exceptionnel d'induration ferrugineuse qui engendre un abri sous roche. L'étude géomorphologique conclut à un encroûtement de nappe phréatique accentué par des conditions locales particulièrement favorables à la précipitation du fer, abondant dans les sédiments cénomaniens. The alluvial deposits of the Loir middle terrace, near Cré-sur-Loir, show an exceptional geomorphological phenomenon: an iron crusting producing a natural shelter. This is a phreatic water crouting concluded the morphological study and this phenomenon is accentuated by the local conditions, favouring the precipitation of iron oxyhydroxides which are abundant in the Cenomanian sediments
