L'œuvre d'art en tant que témoignage: les artistes confrontés à la guerre

Este artículo surge como respuesta a la pregunta de si el arte puede ser considerado fuente testimonial como lo son los documentos escritos que habitualmente tienen en cuenta los historiadores para sus estudios. Pero este tema en arte es complejo. Tenemos el ejemplo universal de Goya, dando testimonio de lo que vio durante la guerra de la independencia, y tenemos distintos dibujos realizados por judíos en los campos de exterminio nazis o de artistas españoles republicanos en los campos de concentración franceses. Pero también está el ejemplo de Picasso cuando pinta « Guernica ». ¿Hasta qué punto este ejemplo, que responde a los anhelos de un pueblo, puede considerarse testimonio?
