This paper studies how the Valencian theologian Jaime Prades justifies the worship of sacred images in his treatise Historia de la adoración y el uso de las Santas Imágenes y de la Fuente de la Salud. The analysis of the treatise will allow the research of Spanish religiosity at the pos-tridentine period and, specifically, the importance that art had as means for divine knowledge
