We offer an overview of the current state of web-based bibliographic resources for history along with a typology: the main virtual catalogues, e-books and collections of documents, guides to printed journals and e-journals, as well as the main historiographical databases, both general and specialised according to periods and themes. Each site is assessed according to accessability and user-friendliness. The international movement, Open Access, represents a major advance in access to historical information. Through access to virtual libraries and databases, the new technologies allow for manageable and highly useful megasearches. Included is a selective guide to these resources with full information and e-addresses
