In this paper we present a group of Roman republican pila from the Iberian Iron Age site at Castellruf (Val l é ~O riental, province of Barcelona, Catalonia, northeast of Iberia). These weapons can be dated to the end of the third century BC, which puts them among the earliest known republican pila. They belong to the same type. At the same text, the historical and cultural context for these objects is analysed.
