The author proposes a new explanation of the phonetic value of the graphs Ͷ of IG V 2, 262 and ζ in the Arcadian dialect of the V century B. C. First, the author tries to demonstrate that Ͷ represents a sound very close to a dental, while maintaining a very reduced degree of palatalization, so that it appears to be an allophonic variation of Ͷ. Second, starting from the forms τζετρακατιαι and οζις, the author suggests that ζ represents the sound dz in the Arcadian dialect of the V century B. C
