Identidad, ideología e iconografía republicana en el Perú

The birth of the Peruvian republican iconography is intimately related to the Independence Declaration in 1821, moment from which different symbols to the colonial ones are required to be diffused in the collective imaginary in order to transmit diametrically different messages. To achieve this objective, the governmental authorities as well as private initiatives make use of diverse disciplines and mass media. Though to the date the initial iconography is maintained, this has been reinforced through the history with new necessary contributions due to a variety of political joints through which the country has gone through in its almost 200 years of republican life, always searching to achieve cohesion and national identity. El nacimiento de la iconografía republicana peruana está íntimamente relacionada con la declaración de la Independencia (1821), momento a partir del cual se requiere de símbolos diferentes a los coloniales para ser difundidos en el imaginario colectivo a fin de transmitir mensajes diametralmente distintos. Para lograr este objetivo, tanto las autoridades como iniciativas particulares, recurren a diversas disciplinas y medios de comunicación. Si bien a la fecha la iconografía inicial se mantiene, ésta ha sido reforzada a través de la historia con nuevos aportes necesarios debido a diversas coyunturas políticas por las que ha atravesado el país en sus casi 200 años de vida republicana, siempre en busca de lograr cohesión e identidad nacional
