Based on French philosopher Paul Ricoeur, this paper attempts to answer the question of whether a medical doctor’s clinical practice can easily translate into research. Drawing on the parallels between the doctor-patient and the researcher-participant relationships, clinical practice and research are compared from an ethical point of view.
