This study examines the way in which going to the conquest of Nueva Granada influenced a group of relations from Cordoba. The study focuses the attention on Pedro Fernandez de Valenzuela and Hernan Venegas. Looking at them we can learn the way family networks worked in preparation for the conquest, in its development and in the relations between those who returned and those who stayed in the Indias
