This article presents the development of agreement associated with vi ‘you (pl.)’ of formal address in Slovenian written sources from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries from the perspective of part of speech and with a comparison to Comrie’s agreement hierarchy. It also addresses the issue of the social differentiation role played by semi-formal address (Sln. polvikanje) from the perspective of the speaker and the addressee.
