We discuss a technique for the approximation of the Poisson prob-lem under mixed boundary conditions in spaces of piece-wise constant func-tions. The method adopts ideas from the theory of ¡-convergence as a guide-line. Some applications are considered and numerical evaluation of the conver-gence rate is discussed
