The article examines the concept of “space”, based on other researchers’ works, examined spatial perception process, factors that determine a different every human perception of space, analysing the impact of architectural spaces on the perceiver. The most attention is focused on educational spaces, because in the lithuanian context there is a lack of information on the subject. In the article author is keeping the opinion that physical environment becomes a factor or measure, helping not only to seek for the best learning results, but also achieve the best state of being of the learner. Therefore the article attempt to identify those principles of space formation which could stimulate children’s cognitive skills and help to design a quality educational environment. Based on the analyzed theories of certain features of the spaces is provided on specific examples of schools
