
Modern territory planning is a complicated, much time, effort and knowledge consuming task. Therefore, factors influencing territory planning procedures should be defined and their role in developing a general spatial concept stating the priorities in land use, environment protection, monuments preservation, the use of land, forests and water areas, the development of residential and industrial districts and infrastructure as well as regulating the employment of residents and the activities of natural and juridical persons should be determined. The main principles of territory planning on the national scale used in Lithuania, Poland and Germany are analysed. Analysis is aimed at determining the major criteria describing territory planning processes in Lithuania, Poland and Germany. These processes are compared using the verbal analysis method UniComBOS.
