Open AccessThe water of Vilnius boreholes contains excessive quantities of natural iron and manganese, the insoluble forms of which increase the turbidity of the water. Therefore, a ISC Vilniaus Vandenys installed water treatment equipment that remove iron and manganese from drinking water, and decrease the turbidity of the water. Water samples were taken at different points of the water supply network, total iron, manganese content, and turbidity analyses were carried out, and the changes in indicators mentioned above were observed in the water supply network. It was established that this indicators concentrations are changing at water supply networks, but do not exceed the norms allowed by HN 24:2003.

Vilniaus miesto gręžtinių šulinių vandenyje yra per dideli kiekiai gamtinės geležies ir mangano, kurių netirpios formos didina vandens drumstumą. Todėl UAB bendrovėje „Vilniaus vandenys“ įdiegti vandens gerinimo įrenginiai, šalinantys iš geriamojo vandens geležį ir manganą ir mažinantys vandens drumstumą. Vandens mėginiai buvo imami iš įvairių vandentiekio tinklo vietų ir atliekami bendrosios geležies, mangano ir drumstumo tyrimai, stebimi šių rodiklių kitimai vandentiekio tinkluose. Nustatyta, kad nors šių rodiklių koncentracijos vandentiekio tinkluose kinta, tačiau neviršija leistinų HN 24:2003 normų.
