The present study, conducted in november 2015, with questionnaires completed by students in Bucharest Dental School at UMF „Carol Davila“ University, evaluates the attitude and general knowledge regarding Hepatitis C infection (VHC) (for students in the first years I and II) and specific knowledge after studying the matter Virology during college (middle and final years III to VI). 192 students were included in the study, the level of knowledge being evaluated by quntifying correct answers. Statistically significant data was obtained regarding wheather the students had or had not been studying Virology in the faculty curricula (p < 0.0001, mean 12-15, %CI = 11.03-15.43) and also regarding the age of the participants (p < 0.0001, mean 11-15, 95% CI = 9.128-17-73). By comparing the results between the 2 groups one can easily see an improovement of the knowledge level after studying Virology, proving that the scientifical, specialized information is a very efective way of making people aware and a way of prevention, both in the proffesional and in the private life of the future dentists.
