Psoriasis is more than a dermatological condition, it is a chronic inflammatory disease which predominantly affects skin but the joints can also be involved. This disease has a significant impact on the day to day life of the patients, their psychological wellbeing and significantly increases the risk developing metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is diagnosed by considering certain factors; waist circumference, serum triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, blood pressure and blood glucose levels. Considering the gravity of impact on the quality of life of individuals with psoriasis and its comorbidities, the therapeutic strategy must be precise and most often require a multidisciplinary team.
