Synthesis of silicon dioxide nanoparticles using green synthesis approach is one of the cost effective and prominent method. In the present study silicon oxide nanoparticles have been synthesized using “DESMOSTACHYA BIPINNATA” which is commonly called as “DHARBA GADDI” in telugu. These plants are rich in phytochemical contents (flavonoids, phenols etc.) which acts as reducing agent and as a capping agent which prevents the agglomeration of the Nanoparticles. The synthesized Nano silica has been characterized using FTIR, UV-VIS, XRD, SEM, TEM characterization techniques to determine average particle size, available functional groups, absorbance, crystallographic nature, morphology of the synthesized silica have been studied respectively. In XRD a broad peak has observed at 21.56o and the average particle size of the particles is calculated by using Debye-Scherer formula 1.01nm. From FTIR sharp peaks observed at 1099.80cm-1 and 801.21cm-1, indicating Si-O-Si bonds and from the UV-Vis spectrum observe a broad peak at 350nm, the morphology and size of the particles has been determined using SEM, TEM.
