Caesalpinia sappan L has a red substance called brazilin which can be used as a natural dye. The attractive red color of secang wood can be used as a natural dye in cosmetics preparations, one of which is lip cream coloring. Ethanol extract of secang wood was made by maceration using 96% ethanol. The aims of this study was to made formula for lip cream using dyes from ethanol extract of secang wood and to find out its stability with the cycling test method for 6 cyclus . In this study three formulas were made with the concentration of secang wood extract, namely 1%, 2%, and 3%. The stability test of the preparation was carried out with the parameters tested, namely organoleptic (aroma, color, and texture), homogeneity, pH, dispersion test, smear test and preference test (hedonic test). The results showed that the three lip cream formulas were organoleptic ally (aroma, color, texture) and homogeneity were quite stable, both at 4oC and 40oC, but in lip cream 3% concentration showed solid granules on 4 cyclus. The three lip cream formulas have a suitable pH for the lips which is pH 4.5 - 6.5, easy to apply, is glossy, and soft. The results of the hedonic test showed that the lip cream formula 2 was preferred by the average number of flavors of aroma 7.03, color 7.36, and texture 7.1.
