
Anaphoric R-Expressions as Bound Variables

This paper shows that putatively "bound" R-expressions in San Lucas Quiavini Zapotec and Thai are not, in fact, true R expressions, but bound variables spelled out as copies of their antecedents. Likewise, "locally bound" pronouns are bound copies of their antecedents.
