The present research investigated the perception of four stakeholders’ viz. industrymanagers/supervisors, CAD practitioners working in Garment Manufacturing industry andfaculty and students from Fashion Technology discipline towards CAD adoption in the Indianscenario.Initial interactions with the CAD vendors revealed that the adoption of CAD by IndianGarment Manufacturers is significantly low compared to their counter parts of neighbouringcountries despite the acceptance of the fact by majority that the advancement of technology hasa clear impact on manufacturing efficiency. This mismatch led to the present research.The study employed a survey method using a structured questionnaire to obtain responses fromthe above-mentioned four stakeholders. Findings proved that all the four respondents vizIndustry Managers, Industry CAD practitioners; Academic Faculty and Academic Students areof the opinion that CAD systems are useful and beneficial to the garment industry.
