Misconception of narrators is one of the major reasons which influence the soundness of Hadīth and Invalidate the Narrators. Imam Sufyan bin oyaynah was one of the renowned and indulgent Muslim scholars of Hadīth. But sometimes, in narrating Hadīth he misinterprets and goes in contradiction to other narrators.
This article attempts to analyze narrations of Imām Sufyan bin Oyaynah in which he misapprehends Hadīth chains. This study employed a critical and comparative research methodology for investigating misapprehend the Hadīth narrated by Imām sufyan. This study will contribute in the field of Hadīth and its sciences and will be beneficial for researchers and scholars of Hadīth.
