It was recently proposed which prothrombolytic processes promote formation of sandy bars that transform inlets into coastal lagoons. I know show stratigraphic evidence that supports the hypothesis that prothrombolytic processes are responsible for the formation of coastal soils of the La Paz lagoon that already they are urbanized or colonized by mangroves. It is proposed that this could well be the case for several coastal lagoons of the Mexican NW.
