I engage with the vulnerable or extinct animal body via internet, viral video or the newspaper. I'm no activist biologist (though Dian Fossey is my patron saint). My only chance to reach the molding creature is by fixing my eyes obsessively on the reptilian screen while petting the dog under my desk.
