«Faculty of unnecessary things»: Department of Ethnology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University in the post-scientific era

В статье представлен анализ современного положения российской этнологии/антропологии, которое автор характеризует в алармистских тонах как постдисциплинарное, имея в виду разрушение мировоззренческого уровня и серьезный кризис логически-дискурсивного уровня этнологии. Автор предлагает к рассмотрению обобщенный социологический портрет исследователя-этнолога, чей психоэмоциональный профильсоставляют растерянность перед лицом экономических проблем, кризис профессиональной идентичности и профессиональное выгорание.Анализируя положение дел в системе подготовки профессиональных этнологов на примере кафедры этнологии Московского университета, автор закономерно увязывает его с внутридисциплинарными проблемами этнологии/антропологии, а также с общей социально-экономической ситуацией в стране. В отсутствие государственного и общественного запроса на экспертное этнологическое знание, специалистыэтнологи и антропологи, которых выпускает кафедра, не могут трудоустроиться.Последнее обстоятельство меняет мотивацию молодых людей, получающих высшее образование, создавая причудливые конфигурации из эмоциональных и квазирациональных императивов. Будучи бессильны перед лицом неблагоприятных внешних социокультурных и экономических обстоятельств, студенты аккумулируют не столько знания, сколько положительные эмоции от принадлежности к университетской корпорации. The article presents an analysis of the current state of Russian ethnology/anthropology, which the author characterizes in alarmist tones as post-disciplinary, meaning the destruction of the worldview level and a deep crisis of the logical and discursive level of ethnology. The author offers a generalized sociological portrait of an ethnologist researcher, whose mental and emotional profile consists of confusion in the face of economic problems, a crisis of professional identity and professional “burnout”.Analyzing the situation in the system of training professional ethnologists on the example of the Department of Ethnology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the author naturally links it with the intra-disciplinary problems of ethnology/anthropology, as well as with the general social and economic situation in the country. In the absence of state and public demand for expert ethnological knowledge, specialists in ethnology and anthropology, graduated from the department, cannot find a job. The latter circumstance changes the motivation of young people receiving higher education, creating bizarre configurations of emotional and quasi-rational imperatives. Being powerless in the face of unfavorable external socio-cultural and economic circumstances, students accumulate not so much knowledge as positive emotions from belonging to a university corporation.
