Первообразом символического орнамента благополучия (улзий) послужил обычный веревочный или ременный узел, который кочевники использовали в быту. Постепенно данный орнаментальный мотив получил широкое распространение. Символизирующий центр макромира кочевой культуры, он олицетворяет прочность, устойчивость, благополучие и счастье. The prototype of the symbolic ornament of prosperity (ulziy) was the usual rope or belt knot, which the nomads used in everyday life. Over time, this ornamental motif became widespread. Symbolizing the center of the macrocosm of nomadic culture it represents strength, stability, well-being, and happiness.
