The development of power ministries and state departments is conditioned by the realities taking place in the modern world. Food supply, being the most dynamic subsystem of the system of material and technical support of the military organization of the state, clearly demonstrates the importance of the changes taking into account the specifics of the organizational and staff structure and the nature of the tasks performed by the security forces. The authors reviewed the existing criteria and system of indicators of food security. On their basis, a set of indicators and criteria for assessing the food safety of special consumers is proposed.
