Based on official statistics, the article describes the state of the healthcare system in the regions of the Arctic zone of Russia, compares it with other Russian regions. The incidence of arctic inhabitants in the main groups of diseases is analyzed. Recommendations for improving the situation are formulated. The necessity of adjusting approaches to the organization of medical and preventive work is substantiated
