The article examines the results obtained in the course of field research in 2020–2021 by members of the research team as part of a project to study multiple Russian-Ukrainian identity in a few regions of Russia. An integrated approach made it possible to conduct a quantitative and qualitative research due to the developed author's methodology for collecting information (2020 — interview, 2021 — questionnaire). The materials obtained allow us to speak of the specifics of ethnic self-identification (more than 40 formulations), with the identification of the reasons that influenced the formation of the Russian-Ukrainian identity, and also to consider the linguistic situation, in- terethnic relations among the Russian-Ukrainian population in five regions of Russia.
