The article is devoted to the analysis of school scientific works on the study of the genealogy of their families, dynasties, historical figures, family archives, relics within the framework of “The Thread of times and generations” competition. During the study, the authors used the method of comparison, statistical, graphical and tabular analyses, descriptive, structural and functional approaches. The results of the students’ work show an increase in the interest in their origin and family-related environment, children’s awareness of the world around them, their own essence and family values.
